Cordless Scanners use a base station that is attached with a USB cable to your PC. The scanner can be used to scan bar codes using Bluetooth radio comminications between the base station and the scanner. The distances are limited by your environment and by a practical need to be able to see the PC screen.
But, in general, if your personnel need to regularly walk some distance from the PC to scan a crated item, this is a great solution for you.
